Jr. Leaders will complete training days in Red Deer followed by a weekend long on-site training at Camp Alexo. After the training sessions, Jr. Leaders will attend Camp Alexo for 1-2 weeks as a volunteer Cabin Leader where they will be able to put those skills to work, assisting in implementing a program for children aged 7-12. Youth will be mentored by an experienced staff team and receive daily feedback on their progress. The skills learned in this course will use among all aspects of their development.
The opportunity to volunteer at a camp is conditional on the maturity shown by youth during training. Some youth may not be given volunteer weeks if the Camp Leadership Team deems that they are not ready for the responsibility.
