Boucherville, QC – October 15, 2019 – Lowe’s Canada is celebrating the success of its 2019 Heroes Campaign. From September 1 to 30, some 270 Lowe’s, RONA, and Reno-Depot corporate stores in the country raised funds to help a non-profit organization or public school of their choice – heroes in their communities – assisting to fulfill their mission or carry out a specific project. Lowe’s Canada has matched 50% of all donations, up to a maximum of $2,000 per store. Thanks to employee initiatives, customer generosity, and corporate donations, more than $1.2 million will be distributed to over 245 community organizations across the country. In Red Deer, two local organizations will collectively receive over $11,000.

“The Lowe’s Canada Heroes Campaign’s success goes beyond the sums presented,” said Jean-Sébastien Lamoureux, Senior Vice-President, Public Affairs, Asset Protection and Sustainable Development. “It lies in our employees’ and customers’ high level of engagement towards helping those who play a positive role in their communities. Again this year, our stores have organized an array of fundraising activities to maximize the amount provided to their Hero organization,” added Mr. Lamoureux. “In addition, several employees will further support their chosen cause by taking part, on their personal time, in volunteer activities over the next year.”

In Red Deer, RONA Red Deer (North) raised funds for the Boys & Girls Club of Red Deer and District totalling $5,383.64.  Funds raised will be put towards infrastructure enhancements in order to better serve youth in our programs.
