The 49th Street Youth Shelter has been selected as the charity of choice for The Home Depot Canada’s Orange Door Project, focused on preventing and putting an end to youth homelessness in Canada.

From now until December 22, The Home Depot customers can donate $2.00 in-store or online through orangedoorproject.ca, with funds raised locally coming back to the 49th Street Youth Shelter in support of the 12-bed shelter and its associated outreach programs. Youth HQ representatives will be present at the Red Deer Home Depot store throughout the campaign to answer questions about the shelter and its initiatives.

The Home Depot Canada Foundation is pledging to invest $50 million by 2022 through The Orange Door Project, give homeless youth the housing, support and hope they need to live safe, healthy and productive lives. Through The Orange Door Project fundraising campaign, The Home Depot Canada Foundation supports 121 organizations that are committed to preventing and ending youth homelessness across the country.
