The Youth HQ podcast is an avenue for youth in our programs to express themselves, feel empowered to interview people in the community,  and share their stories; whether it be stories of personal growth, resiliency, and/or accomplishments. The podcast will serve as a fun learning opportunity for youth to gain experience with technology skills, interviewing skills, & interpersonal skills. This program will also take on a life of its own and build upon individuals’ strength where youth will learn valuable skills around planning and designing an interview, hosting the podcast, and then editing the content. Our staff and volunteers will support the youth through this of course.

A special thanks to Tony Sowan (host of the Zed 98.9 morning show) for his leadership and support in helping to put this program together.

A special thanks also to our friends from the Urban Spirits Rotary Club for providing the funds to support the purchasing of equipment for this program.

Format: We will be hosting interviews at our club space(s) and host a minimum of one podcast per month. Youth will work with staff to interview previous Boys & Girls Club alumni, community members, stakeholders, and/or host youth round table discussion. Stay tuned for further details on training and how to be involved in the logo and name design.
