Funded by the Boston Pizza Foundation, the Youth HQ Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a long-awaited necessity in the agency. We at Youth HQ believe the best way to represent and serve our youth is to hear concerns and needs straight from the source.
The YAC will intentionally cover the greater youth demographic. Youth ages 15-25, from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and communities are welcome. Youth who participate in our various programs and services and youth who have had no interaction with the agency are encouraged to apply.
Members of this council will represent the voices Youth HQ aims to serve. Their voices will influence all aspects of the agency; members will have input on topics such as policy and programming. Members will represent the concerns of youth in and out of the organization.
Commitment varies from one to four years in the council with four years being the maximum term of service. The first few months include training and a workshop to ensure the youth are able to serve to the best of their abilities. Meetings vary between 1 – 2 hours and one council representative will be present at every Youth HQ board meeting.
