To kick off Big Brothers Big Sisters Month, KCB Cabinets & Renovations hosted the first Littles Build BIGGER event since 2019. While BBBS Littles and waitlist youth were building toolkits and learning about carpentry, Youth HQ staff and volunteers hosted a free barbeque and provided information about the Big Brothers Big Sisters program to the many people in attendance. The highlight of the event for many was the dunk tank, in which many local celebrities volunteered to sit in the tank to help raise money for the program. Some of the dunkees included the Youth HQ Executive Director, Rob Lewis, Carl Sauve, the owner of KCB Cabinets & Renovations, as well as many local personalities such as Vinnie Taylor, Graeme Thomson, and Ted Emmett.

Red Deer mayor Ken Johnston was in attendance to officially proclaim September as BBBS Month and say a few words about the importance of mentoring youth.

Youth HQ extends a heartfelt thank you to Carl Sauve and the team at KCB Cabinets & Renovations for their collaboration in organizing this event, as well as the many volunteers, dunkees, and all who attended the event.
