How difficult is the ride?
Not difficult at all, especially when you have 29 others pedaling with you. The ride is a light ride around downtown Red Deer that starts and ends at the Troubled Monk. Anyone with basic bike riding abilities will be able to complete this ride with little to no issue!
Is there a fundraising component?
Individuals can pledge and fundraise for the event if they want, but it is not a requirement for participation. There will be prizes given out to the top fundraisers.
How long is the route?
The route is a 1.6KM ride!
How much does it cost to participate?
One seat is $150. Businesses or groups can purchase a half bike (14 seats) or a full bike (29 seats)
What time do I ride?
Times vary depending upon when your bike is scheduled to go. The event starts at 9:00am and concludes at 7:00pm. Rides start on the top of the hour. Full bike purchasers can select their preferred time.
What other activities are happening?
All participants are free to drop in at the Troubled Monk after your ride for some eats and social.
Why is this event on a Thursday?
September 18th is National Big Brothers Big Sisters Day across Canada. It is also a preferred date for many businesses to be able to participate without impacting their weekend. After the event concludes we invite everyone to visit City Hall Park as the park will be lit up in Celebration of National BBBS Day.
