The Boys and Girls Club of Red Deer is pleased to announce the kick off of KIDS FOOD NATION starting on Thursday, January 21.  The program will run every Thursday evening from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm for children 9-12 years of age via ZOOM online platform. Kid Food Nation (KFN) is a national program that aims to improve children’s health by teaching food skills and enhancing food literacy in a fun and interactive after-school program.

The overall program goals are to help members develop
the necessary:
• Skills to work with food
• Knowledge to make healthy choices about the food
they eat
• Confidence to change food habits one goal at a time


Kid Food Nation is presented by President’s Choice Children’s Charity and was developed with generous support from the Public Health Agency of Canada.
The curriculum was developed by Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada and authored by Kate Hand of Learning by Hand, with key contributions from Dietitians of Canada,
Social Research and Demonstration Corporation, and Tanya Wenman Steel LLC.
