FIRST ANNUAL RALLY FOR KIDS POKER RUN HUGE SUCCESS!
On June 29 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Red Deer, Boys and Girls Club of Red Deer and Youth HQ hosted the first RALLY FOR KIDS poker run in support of Camp Alexo.
The event attracted 427 participants (353 adults and 74 youth under 18 years).
263 OHV’s completed the 34 km trek from Nordegg to Alexo along the historic CN rail line.

Thank you also to our amazing prize sponsors – West Country Pumps and Filtration, the Coverall Shop, Sunbelt Rentals, The Canadian Brewhouse and West Jet Cares for Kids. Out great lunch was sponsored by Olymel and M&M Food Market. Thanks to many draw prize sponsors and supporters.
The special thank you to our amazing volunteers who gave up time on a long weekend to support this event. We could not have been successful without our volunteers. From our registration, checkpoint support, BBQ support, clean up crew, safety riders and even some participants who chipped in to support – you all were incredible!
As for feedback from participants it was overwhelmingly positive. The trail received rave reviews, despite a 1.5km rough section and some water challenges due to the recent rains. We even had young riders under 10 years old enjoy the trail and many little ones with their parents enjoy the amazing views of David Thompson Country. We had a lot of feedback about making the trek longer and we are happy to announce that we will certainly be looking at that as the trail is further developed.
