On Saturday June 24, 2017 more than 260 people joined us at Camp Alexo to celebrate the Grand Opening of the new Eagle’s Nest Rotary Lodge and mark the completion of the Alexo Master Plan which was started back in 2014. This 3-year project represented an incredible level of community investment that included 900+ volunteers contributing more than 40,000 hours in support of the project. The total community investment into the Camp Alexo Master Plan (cash and in-kind contributions) was more than 2.1 million dollars. There are too many to thank, however, we would like to acknowledge our key stakeholder’s, who without their support to drive this plan forward, simply would not have happened. Thank You to Terry Loewen, Bill Olafson, Christine Moore, Red Deer Kinsmen, Red Deer Rotary and our friends at Eagle Builders for helping to ensure children and youth will continue to create memories at Camp Alexo for years to come. Thank You to everyone who joined us on Saturday, June 24, 2017 to celebrate our grand opening with the cutting of the ribbon. The afternoon was spent sharing memories with alumni, touring our supporters throughout the camp, meeting our young counsellors for the 2017 season, great food and great company. A donor board acknowledging all of our major supporters is now constructed at the camp.
